This one combines the best wishes for the new year with a christmas card. If you want to know why they are riding a pig (which is very German) you will have to watch the Glückschweinfilm I did for Arte…. Unfortunatly that one exists either in German or in French.

Award for Music and Sounddesign
Animation, comic, UncategorizedI have just been informed, that the music and sound design by Frank Schreiber for my promotional short AP Plus one price at the Jerry Goldsmith festival in Cordoba.
Perhaps I should start sending the film itself to film festivals, so the film might win something, too. There is a link to the website of the festival, which features a portrait of Frank and the clip.

Würzburg
UncategorizedThese are some drawings from my last visit to Würzburg, to see my old friend Martin Armbruster (http://herrarmbruster.de/). The drawings were done on the the spot, with the execption of the girl which I revised at home. For some reason the drawings look much better in a sketchbook.
New Life Drawing Category
UncategorizedI have put together all my life drawings I have posted recently plus some new ones. Most of these drawings are pretty new. The one on the right is an exception. It has the same olive oil stain like the unknown woman I posted two weeks ago, and is from a sketchbook arround 1999.
New Book. Tierisch Verliebt
comic, fun, illustration, UncategorizedMy new book which will be published in january 2015 but Amazon already shows it. It is full of stupid German puns, which can´t be translated properly I am afraid. It is about cute animals in love (moles, lions, goats, sheep, wolves, everything!)
Old sketchbook drawing/ Unknown Woman
illustration, portrait, sketch, Uncategorized
This is an old sketch from my time at art school which now seems ages ago. There were no mobile phones, it would still take four or five years before I bought my first computer. People were clad in fur and wild animals roamed freely through the streets of Stuttgart where I lived at the time.In a weird way this drawing is rough although there are lots of details. I don´t remember who this is supposed to be. The big stain in the middle came from a bottle of olive oil that leaked in my rucksack. This means that this particular sketchbook had been to Italy with me and the olive oil was a souvenir from Lucca.
During that time I never left home without a sketchbook. Sketchbooks are just great….
Frederick the Pug
illustration, UncategorizedThis is something slightly stupid. A good friend of mine asked me to do a drawing of her pug dog as Frederick the Great as a birthday present (this is something about her originating from Potsdam where Sanssoucie, the castle where he is buried, is located). I hope she likes it.
Otherwise there is lots of commissioned work I am doing at the moment. I am seriously looking forward to do something more personal soon, but i t might take some time….
Pirates Comic
comic, fun, illustration, Uncategorized“Pirat voraus, Käptn Klaus” has finally appeared:
I take this as an opportunity to show one more page and the sketches I did beforehand. Those are an exception because I did the initial sketch digitally, which is because the layout was rather complicated. Normally I prefer ordinary pencil sketches.
Kira and Football

Kira and Football
These drawings are part of a second portrait session with Kira. Thanks to her. I started them in the café of the Museum Ludwig and finished them at home.
Today is probably the last time you can make jokes about the world cup. I have a friend who is half Argentine half German, so I wondered what his neutral shirt would look like. The third drawing is basically about what you could wear if you are looking for trouble when visiting a German public viewing. Would have worked even better if Holland had made it to the final. But you could always wear it when visiting a Bayer Leverkusen match (you will have lots of new friends afterwards…..).
By the way, I am not neutral and I would like the German team to win and I like Dutch football (regards to Sander)…
Affe Wilhelm
Animation, comic, film, illustration, Uncategorized
This is a rather stupid drawing I found in one of my old sketchbooks. Those are elements for cutout drawings, and the ape is one of the bad (and stupid) ghosts of German history, Wilhelm II. I probably chose it because the media is full of stories about 1914. My ancestors fought on both sides and one of my English relatives is buried here in Cologne in one of the soldier´s cemetaries.
The drawing is from a film about the brave soldier Schweijk by Natasa von Kopp, a documentary with some animated sequences. I am not really content with my work here, but I learned a lot. For the brave here is a link to the film…..
