This is based on asketch I made after visiting the Museum Leopold in Vienna this summer. It probably needs some explaining. They have big collections of paintings by Egon Schiele. The weird thing about Egon Schiele ist that much of it is almost pornographic, but somehow it still works. but what amused me were the panels stating that the women on these pictures look self- confident at the observer. Apart from the fact that to me they just look blank, I guess 19th century Vienna would have been a paradise for the likes of Harvey Weinstein and I really have problems with the whole romanticizing of Sissi and Co. If you had money it was probably great, if not…But Egon´s landscapes are great.
I have made loads of sketches during our trip from Passau to Vienna by bike. This is number one….
