here is my first photo sketch from Paris. O.K. obviously it is something completly different. I have so much stuff to do, that I can´t scan the stuff I did. There would be a lot to write about that, and I ahd some nice ideas, but it will take some time ( to cut it short France is always pretty inspiring). This could be a title page to the last comic, but it actually is from an invitation to an exhibition with Ruth and Felo in April… It is a kind of homage to Herge I guess. I am afraid me and Steven Spielberg liked the same comics when we were young, for I just heard that he uses the Rackham volumes as the basis for his Mocap- feature film, which sounds like a nightmare…

I didn´t finish the comic strip I was working on. I hope to finish it in the course of next week. It deals with my new experience of carnival. To cut it prettty short, carnival seems to be fun, but my three beer rule is kind of counterproductive. It needs more then that . So I will have one year to decide what to do next time. So here is a slightly older comic. I wasn´t completly satisfied with it, but I guess it is O.K.

comic, funWorking on this blog is a little bit like talking to oneself. Basically I started this to have an incentive to still do some independent stuff. The obligation I have made for myself to post something new every sunday helps. This has been a strange week, so what I did is a little mixed. But see for yourself….
Parts of this post might be removed pretty soon…

So this is once again a joke that is hard to understand without speaking German. `Was stört es die deutsche Eiche, wenn sich die Wildsau an ihr reibt` means literally translated: What does the German oak care if a wild boar scratches it’s back at it`. Basically it is an ancient and way of saying sod you. The drawing came about when we tried to teach Louis, a French exchange student from the Gobelins some German swearwords. I came up with this because this is the kind of swearword you would least expect from someone with little knowledge of German. Besides it just sounds extremly stupid. I guess it is from the time of the Keiser and I am afraid there wasn’t any irony about it at that time but now it is just hilarious.
