On the
27.6.2019 I was invited by Ernst and Young to make the drawings on a scribble
wall live at the Pirate Summit 6m wide and 3m tall. The Pirate Summit is an
event for Start-Ups and investors, that takes place once a year at Odonien in Cologne.
The wall
combines elements of a treasure map with small portraits of visitors with witticisms
by our guests. It was big fun and very hot… I will post some better picture
later on.
Am 27.6.2019 habe ich für Ernst und Young auf dem PIRATE Summit live eine 3*6m große Wand gestaltet. Der Pirate Summit ist eine Veranstaltung für Gründer die jährlich im Odonien stattfindet. Die Wand bringt kleine Karikaturen der Besucher mit Bonmots und Elementen einer Schatzkarte zusammen. Mir hat es sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Ich bekomme noch bessere Fotos….
I held a 2 day Animation- Workshop/ for students at the Hochschule Ravensburg- Weingarten. Like always it was fun, like always I forgot to take pictures, so I added an older sketch from Ravensburg. Thanks to Prof. Markus Lauterbach.
A test I
made from a drawing I did in Stuttgart. I like old fashioned comic styles , so I
tried, what that would look like…The main difference is that I omitted the
numerous cars. I combined two ink drawings and coloured them digitally.
Probably the black and white drawing is better,
which is a pity, because the coloured version was quite a lot of work.

The product of a workshop for children at the
International Festival of Animation Stuttgart arrived today. I developed the story and the storyboard with
the children. Other teachers included Tine Kluth, Francesco
Faranna, Putte Puttenat, and Isabel Huber. The workshop took place at
the Medienforum at the Landtag Baden-Württemberg
and will be held again next year.
Der
fertige Film, der während eine Workshops auf dem Trickfilmfestival Stuttgart
entstanden ist, ist heute angekommen. Ich habe mit den Kindern die Story und
das Storyboard entwickelt. Der Workshop fand im Medienforum am Landtag Baden- Württemberg
statt und wird so nächstes Jahr wieder stattfinden.
Der Pirat Klaus und ZickeZackeDinokacke setzen ihren Siegeszug in Asien fort. Im ignoranten Deutschland leider nur noch antiquarisch oder beim Illustrator erhältlich. Viele Grüße an Volker….
Two of my older books (text by Volker Präkelt) were just publishes in Thailand.
Last year I held a workshop at the Berufliche Schulden Waiblingen for pupils between 16-18, who had to develop ideas for shortfilms for the campaign #hatespeech of the “Internationaler Bund”, which is German welfare organization. I was tasked with making these films. There are 3 (or 2 ½) of them.

This is the first one, based on the ideas of Tamara Kahn, Jaqueline Möhrer, Melissa Sauter, Steve Kahn, who did a tremendous job. The film premiered on at the International Trickfilmfestival Stuttgart, on the big screen. The photograph shows an old film of mine from the year before at the same location. It was hard to take pictures and be on stage at once…

Ich habe letztes Jahr mit Schülern an der beruflichen Schule
Waiblingen einen Film zum Thema
hatespeech entwickelt. Ich bin im Anschluss mit der Umsetzung dieser Ideen
beauftragt worden. Dabei sind 3 Filme (naja, 2 1/2 entstanden).
Das hier ist der erste, basierend auf einer Idee von Tamara Kahn, Jaqueline Möhrer, Melissa Sauter, Steve Kahn, die hervorragende Arbeit gemacht haben. Der Film hatte auf dem Trickfilmfestival Stuttgart Premiere auf der großen Leinwand am Schlossplatz. Das Foto zeigt einen anderen Spot, den ich für den IB gemacht habe und stammt vom jahr davor. Es war schwierig gleichzeitig auf der Bühne zu stehen und zu fotografieren……
